Kaup Light House offers a beautiful view of the beach and the shore which will surely take away your breath.

The main attraction at the Kaup beach is the Kaup Light House which was built by British in 1901 on a 27.12m high rock. Built with an intention to guide and warn the sailors about the presence dangerous rocks, Kaup Light House stands tall at a height of 100 ft, today serves as a great lookout point from where one scores a generous view of the coast as well as the expansive Arabian Sea.

Padubidri beach is your one stop destination to relax and have fun.

Padubidri beach is approximately a kilometer away to the National Highway. If one wants to spend time quietly and peacefully, then this is the best beach to visit. This long stretch of clean and quiet beach is an ideal place to spend the evenings. Children love chasing tiny crabs trying to rush to the safety of nearby small holes in the sand. As the sun sets in, the nearby lighthouses in Kapu and Suratkal start flashing and the gentle breeze and the white surf brings us close to the nature.

During certain days of the year one can watch both sunset in the west and the moon rise from the east simultaneously. During the monsoon season the sea turns violent, It is interesting to watch huge waves hitting the shore lines. During the non-monsoon season, the sea is calm and it is safe for swimming. One can watch people enjoy fishing with the long fishing lines. There is a point at the farthest corner of Padubidri which is called as Padubidri endpoint.

St. Mary’s Islands has a basaltic rock formation the only one of its type in India.

St. Mary’s islands comprise of four small islands in the Arabian sea, off Malpe beach in Udupi. Old tales shows that, Vasco de Gama, the portuguese explorer landed at one of these islands after his expedition in 1498. He named this island “O Padrao de Santa Maria”, as a dedication to Mother Mary. The current name is believed to have derived from this name.
